Community Nurses
There are various community nursing teams that cover our area. These include:

Health Visitors
Health visitors are specialist community public health nurses, (SCPHN) registered midwives or nurses.
They specialise in working with families with a child aged 0 to five to identify health needs as early as possible and improve health and wellbeing by promoting health, preventing ill health and reducing inequalities.

Physiotherapists
Physiotherapists help to restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability. They can also help to reduce your risk of injury or illness in the future.
Our physiotherapists take an holistic approach that involves the patient directly in their own care.

Midwives
If you suspect you are pregnant, you should take a pregnancy test which you can purchase from pharmacies and some supermarkets.
If you have had a positive pregnancy test you can contact the maternity services directly or you can go through your GP. Or you can contact the mid-Pembrokeshire team of midwives on 01834 861581, Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Flying Start is a Welsh Government funded programme which is targeted at children aged 0 – 3 years 11months and their families who live in certain areas of Pembrokeshire defined by postcode.
It is well recognised that children’s early years are an important period and experiences at this time impact greatly on children’s future development.
The Lullaby Trust raises awareness of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), provides expert advice on safer sleep for babies and offers emotional support for bereaved families.

Phlebotomist
A Phlebotomist is a person trained in the taking of blood.
We have a dedicated Phlebotomist, Tracey Sharrat working from our surgery, however each hospital has a phlebotomy department where you can attend if you prefer to have your bloods taken.
