Surgery Appointments
Appointments
Appointments with our clinical team are available throughout the day, Monday – Friday.
Home visits take place between the clinicians’ morning and afternoon surgeries. Requests for a home visit must be made 10.30am
Appointments can be either face to face or as a telephone consultation.
Booking An Appointment With Your Preferred Clinician
When booking an appointment, you can express a preference of which clinician you wish to see. We may not always be able to accommodate your request. This will depend upon the clinical rota and your availability. Yet, we will endeavour to arrange an appointment with your preferred clinician. If we are unable to accommodate your request, we will issue a reason and you may be asked to see another clinician.
Prioritising Patients
Priority is given to the following patients:
- sick children,
- those who are immunocompromised and
- patients who are receiving palliative/end of life care.
An appointment with the Duty Doctor will be offered to:
- Genuine emergencies, that cannot wait until the next day,
- Patients with a condition deemed as not appropriate for A&E.
Alternatively, our team will signpost you to the apporpriate service.
How To Make An Urgent Same-Day Appointment
Patients requiring an urgent, same-day appointment should contact the practice between 8:00 and 9:30 am. Patients requiring a home visit, please contact the surgery by 10:30 am. If required, our reception team will offer either a telephone or face-to-face appointment.
Same-day afternoon appointments are for strict emergencies. This means that you cannot wait until the following morning.
Following the allocation of all afternoon appointments, the Duty Doctor will triage any additional emergency requests. A member of our surgery team will contact you to arrange an appointment, if required. This will of course, depend upon the needs/symptoms of each patient
Please Note: Our Reception Team are working under the instructions of the Doctors. They will ask you for a description of your symptoms to signpost you to the most appropriate clinician. Please be courteous to our staff, who are following the protocols and policies of the practice. Please bear in mind that all calls to the practice are recorded. Furthermore, we operate a zero tolerance policy against abusive/aggressive behaviour towards our staff.
Telephone Consultations
We offer telephone consultations as well as face-to-face appointments. Please ensure you request a telephone consultation when booking your appointment. Finally, please confirm the telephone number you would like to be contacted on.
